Readable inputs cannot depend on screen width
The input-font rule is clarified: a narrow-screen override does not solve a browser-dependent focus problem.

A tablet is not always a small screen
Version 1.12.2 clarifies why applying a 16px input-font floor only inside a mobile-width media query is insufficient. A tablet or touch laptop can sit outside that breakpoint while still being affected by the browser’s focus behaviour.
Fix the declaration, not the symptom
The guidance calls for correcting the input declaration itself. Where a deliberately smaller input is appropriate, the rule describes scoping it to a fine pointer rather than assuming that viewport width identifies the device. This is a clarification of the rule, not a claim that every downstream input has already been fixed.
A second clarification for tokens
The same release explains that a literal fallback inside var() is still a token reference. Detecting a fallback that has drifted from its token requires comparing values, rather than treating every fallback as a raw-colour violation.
